Joseph Schneider Haus Online Collections. These contain a catalogue of furniture. the Schneider Haus collection are extensive and feature German folk art and furniture styles that are often overlooked by Canadians who remember only the English and French influences in the country.

Scattering of Seeds ran an episode on Benjamin Eby and the German Mennonite settlers in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Heritage Foundation includes a slide show of heritage buildings in the area.

Region of Waterloo Museums

The Kitchener area contains a number of historical sites that represent the variety of immigrants to Waterloo County.

Homer Watson House. Now a gallery, this house once belonged to the landscape artist Homer Watson. it was built in the 1830s in the Scottish Gothic style. While the website focuses on the gallery, there is some historical information on the house and its occupants.

Waterloo Historical Society The website doesn't contain a lot of historical information but there are some useful features such as maps of Waterloo Township.

The Virtual Museum of Canada has an exhibit on German-Canadian migration. The site is about migration directly from Germany, but there is a lot of useful general information. Many Germans moved to the Kitchener area because the German community there was strong. Visit their section on German-Canadian folk art.

The Church of the Brethren have a section on Brethren Life which contains articles about farming communities. There is also a page on the Canadian migrations.
